This is one of the oldest universities in Russia. Its history dates back to 1802 - the date of foundation of the University of Dorpat, which in 1918 moved to the city of Voronezh. In 1930, its Faculty of Medicine became an independent medical institute, which was given academy status in 1994, and the academy was given university status in 2015. The university has firmly established itself as an institution providing high-quality education and leading modern scientific developments in the fields of medicine, biology and pharmacy. The quality of its activities can be judged by the ranking, in which the university is included in the top ten medical universities in Russia.
